Asia is hosting world cup event after 20 years at Qatar in 2022. There are only 4 quotas for Asian nations still one more asian team can qualify through confederation playoffs.First round of qualification for AFC has already  concluded between 12 low ranked teams and now second round will start from 5th of september 2019. Fifa has already divided 8 groups for the second round of world cup qualification where Nepal is grouped with  high ranked teams Australia,Jordan,Chinese Taipei and Kuwait in group 'B'.

Head to Head results 
Nepal have already faced three teams of group before except Australia . The results are as follows:
Jordan 9-0 Nepal (World cup qualifiers 2014)
Jordan 1-1 Nepal (World cup qualifiers 2014)
Nepal 1-1 Chinese Taipei ( International Friendly)
Nepal 0-0 Kuwait  ( International Friendly)

Qualifying system 
Only two teams will qualify fro the next round. Group winner will directly qualify for the next round and best 4 group runner up among 8 groups will qualify for the next round  where top 12 teams will be divided into two groups and top two teams of each group will qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar.

Nepal's Probability  
Nepal is lowest ranked team in group 'B' and it looks very much tough for Nepal to qualify for next round and also it is very tough for Nepal to stop the high margin defeat against the ruthless team like Australia & Jordan.The hope is still alive as we have seen a lot of miracle in football history.  ANFA appointing swedish coach Johan Kalin could give extra boost to the national team. Kalin is a certified coach with UEFA and other football governing bodies. Coach & ANFA should call Jagajeet Shrestha back to national team as he is experienced to play in Austalian soil which could be fruitful for Nepal. In last few years we have seen some progress in Nepali team as they are not having goal drought like before.

Nepal should focus on defeating Kuwait & Chinese Taipei and play stalemate with Jordan and Australia or at least a less margin loss so that even if Nepal does not qualify for the world cup they can still qualify for the Asian Cup Qualifiers 3rd round which is also the big platform and dream tournament for teams like Nepal. This tournament is not limited only for worldcup but it also covers the qualification of Asia cup so Nepal should focus on qualifying directly to 3rd round of Asian cup.

Worst nightmare
Nepal may not be hosting any home games as the only international stadium (Dashrath Stadium) is on phase of renovation after the devastating earthquake of 2072.  Home fans had always been a plus point for Nepal as Nepal was able to hold high ranked jordan in Dasrath Stadium. Renovation work is progressing in very slow motion.
