The 2nd Edition of Nepal's franchise football league Nepal Supper League is starting from 24th November 2023 at Dashrath Stadium Kathmandu. A total of nine teams representing different cities of the country will participate in this tournament. This season will be more bigger with big sponsorships, legendary international players arriving to unveil the NSL Trophy and big concert in the opening ceremony. NSL already got hype with the recent auction held in October. The Participating teams of NSL and their Marquee Players are

As many teams are yet to reveal their Iconic Player & Foreign players we can still predict the stronger side from the prominent domestic players availability. So lets start our squad analysis.

Lalitpur City FC :

 Lalitpur City is playing NSL for 2nd time in its history. It was semifinalist and one of the title contender in NSL season 1. During NSL Auction Lalitpur City FC was lucky team and was able to grab 3 of the highest auctioned players ie Sanish Shrestha, Sesehang Angdembe & Dinesh Henjan. The Captain & Marquee player Ananta Tamang of lalitpur has the better leadership ability and defensive skills which we have already seen in Martys Memorial 'A' Division League as Ananta led Church Boys United to win the title.  The defence line of Lalitpur city FC looks very solid with 2 of the national team player Ananta Tamang and Sanish Shrestha with support from Karan Rawat, Sanjeet Rai, Roshan Pahari & Pravesh Kunwar. Lalitpur City might seek some foreign players for the midfield line but even without foreign players Lalitpur will have option from the very well experienced and decent midfielder Sesehang Angdembe, also the emerging youth players from A division league who showed better performance from 3 star club like Anil Maharjan & Aditya Shakya might shine in Midfield. While talking about Forward line Lalitpur City has the promising winger Dinesh Henjan, his pace, skill & crossing ability will surely impact the performance of  Lalitpur City and he might combine well with his Tribhuvan Army Club team mate Sesehang Angdembe . Lalitour city FC is likely to sign foreign player as a CF as there is no big name in Centre Forward of Lalitpur City FC. Overall squad of Lalitpur City FC looks very strong and they just need a good goal poacher .AFC Pro Licensed Coach from Australia Ian Gillan will Coach Lalitpur City FC this season. Jhapa FC : 

The newly introduced team Jhapa FC will be encountering the first NSL in their history. Even though they are new team but their Squad for 2023 looks very strong . Nepals star striker & all time highest goal scorer Anjan Bista is the Marquee player of Jhapa FC. As we all know how the presense of Anjan Bista can change the moment of the game Jhapa FC is more lucky with the availability of another star playmaker Laken Limbu who is the emerging player of the tournament of Martys Memorial A division league and also the important player in Nepal National team now. With National team goal keeper Anish Deula Jhapa FC's defense line needs some boost with foreign players as experience full back Ashok Khawas might need some strong support in defence. Jhapa FC's midfield line looks balanced with the availability of Laken Limbu with support from Sudip Shrestha & Prashant Limbu. Jhapa Fc's Forward line is very much strong with presense of Anjan Bista as he can play as winger & also as a centre forward, he can cross the ball he can deliver some great skills & is a clinical finisher. Not only Anjan but Jhapa FC also has another good winger Laxman Ruchal who showed promising gameplay on recent Martys Memorial A division league. FC Chitwan : 
FC Chitwan is Star Studded team in Nepal Super League. Bishal Shrestha will lead FC Chitwan in NSL 2023. Bishal Shrestha is very popular for his reflexes, leadership & better personality. FC Chitwan players will be highly motivated by their experienced Captain Bishal Shrestha. FC Chitwan has already unveiled their foreign players and they are of the Top class. FC Chitwan is also able to call back Nepal's star forward Bimal Gharti Magar. FC Chitwan has the best forward lineup in NSL with availability of Fast Paced, Skilly & clinial Finisher Rafiq Aminu , Player with strong physique & well experienced Nawayug Shrestha & In-Form star forward Bimal Gharti Magar. Rafiq Aminu was very much dangerous in opponents half in A division league also when Bimal Gharti magar is in his best form he is unstopppable. Midfield line of FC Chitwan also has some big names like Torric Jebrin, Utsab Rai & Roshan Rana Magar. Defense line of Chitwan also looks good with former Real Madrid age group  Spanish defender Ivan Gonzalez & Nepalese International Tsering Gurung. Butwal Lumbini FC 

Butwal Lumbini FC representing province Lumbini is playing its 2nd Season of NSL. With new founder and new logo Butwal Lumbini will be eyeing for the title this time with new energy. Butwal Lumbini has the well balanced team for NSL. Play Maker Arik Bista will be leading this side. Butwal's forward line looks solid with the comeback of former Nepali International Ashish Lama all the way from Australia. Besides Ashish Lama Butwal Lumbini has got the very hardworking Armymen Gillespye Jung Karki who is now a regular centre forward in Nepal National team. Gillespye Jung Karki is physically strong, has a better footwork and has got a good height, he is very clinical in air ball and can convert the long ranger and reaches at goal scoring area quickly to score. Prakash Budhathoki is also another player to watch as he is also very smart and has a good footwork. Midfield line of Butwal also looks stable with the presence of Arik Bista & Mani Kumar lama who can produce a good through ball and long ball in opponents end. The defence line of Butwal Lumbini looks average with some known names like Saroj Tamang & Ashim Bhusal. 

Dhangadi FC:

Former Runner up's Dhangadi FC is ready to take revenge with their mighty Squad. With A division Leagues Starboy Ashish Chaudhary being Marquee player there are many familiar faces in Dhangadi FC. Nepals one of the most underrated but very harworking & promising Full back Kamal Shrestha will combine with another masterpiece defender Devendra Tamang in defence line. Even though midfield line looks average the forward line will be headache for the opponent as Dhangadi will have Paced & Skillful Forward Ashish Chaudhary , Strong finisher Oladipo Olawale and Smart Kritish Ratna Chunju will be leading the forntline of Dhangadi FC. It would be interesting to see how opponent will face this deadly trio of Dhangadi FC.

 

Kathmandu Rayzrs : 

Defending Champions Kathmandu Rayzors will have a huge challenge for defending the title this time . With Paced Forward and marquee Hisub Thapaliya there are very few star players in Kathmandu Rayzors. But who knows Kathmandu rayzors might amaze us with thier young talents, Iconic players & Foreign Players.  With talented coach Bal Gopal Maharjan and Wonder boy Hisub Thapaliya Kathmandu Rayzrs will be aiming for their 2nd title.

Pokhara Thunders:

Pokhara Thunders were not that lucky in NSL Auction , they missed some good players in lucky draw. Still Pokhara Thunders will eye for the title. Having game changing player like Aayush Ghalan will boost the squad of Pokhara Thunders but the squad of Pokhara still needs to get strengthen. I hope we can see some bigger name from Iconic Player quota as well as from the foreign player quota.

Sporting FC Illam de Mechi : 

Though its a first season for Sporting Mechi de Illam but they are able to sign experienced players. There are many former national team players like Biraj Maharjan, Bharat Khawas, Bikesh Kuthu, Bimal Pandey, Jitendra Karki. Such experience player will boost the confidence of team. Highly auctioned Ashish Gurung will give extra impact . Eastern side will be aiming to clinch the title in their first season with these well experience players. 

Birgunj United FC : 

Birgunj United FC the only teqam from Madhesh Pradesh can be the underdogs team this season although they look quiet in NSL Auction they were able to sign some good talents like Simanta Thapa, Suvash Gurung, Sudip Gurung, Jay Gurung etc. Birgunj United can hold good ball possesion with the majority players having good ball control. With very talented and the best alternative of Kiran Chemjong in Nepal National Team Deep Karki will lead Birgunj United FC this season.

So now these were the squad strength of various teams of NSL but the foreign quota are left to be introduced by majority teams. Foreign players will have a huge impact in NSL as teams are eyeing to sign some brilliant players from abroad.
